Below is the information required by us to ensure a great performance at your event or function. Every occasion is different, but here are some ideas as to what we will need to know.
- Client and event information - who you are and what is the occasion you would like us to sing at. How long would you like us to sing for?
- Equipment and facilities - will you provide a piano or do we need to bring our own keyboard? Also, the choristers require easy access to toilets and/or change facilities, if applicable.
- Type of choir - you may want a smaller or larger choir depending on venue, a young treble voice choir or a youth choir, or a combination of the above.
- Special repertoire - if you have a specific song in mind this could incur an additional fee, as we have to source the music and allocate rehearsal time.
Weddings
Southern Voices is a fully accredited member of the Australian Bridal Service, and is available to perform at weddings within the Melbourne metropolitan area. Please phone or email the office for a quote, and give yourself plenty of time.
Bridal couples are asked to select songs from our set wedding repertoire, which ranges from traditional hymns such as "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "Morning has Broken," through classical favourites like "Canon in D", to contemporary songs from radio and TV. Almost any style can be catered for, from classical to Gospel.
If you would like us to sing something specific that is not in our repertoire, we can organise that too! It may require an extra fee, to cover music purchase costs or arranging time.
The Youth Chorale perform at most of our wedding engagements, and are highly experienced at doing so. They can process in before the wedding, or recess out with the bride if necessary. They can also form a guard of honour at the completion of the service, and take part in photos to a degree.
They usually perform in their regular uniform of white shirts and black pants or slacks, but can also wear formal robes for a more sacred atmosphere if so desired. The choice is totally up to you!
