How to join
Parents with interested children can contact the office at any time.
Each year the Choir sends staff to primary schools in the suburbs surrounding the rehearsal venues. This is followed by audition nights on regular rehearsal nights at each venue; check this year's dates on the calendar page.
Some brief facts regarding auditions:
- No experience is necessary!
- Auditions are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
- Children may then stay and observe a senior choir rehearsal
What to expect
Above all the aim of the Choir is to foster a love of choral music and a sense of musical exploration, whilst retaining a degree of fun along the way.
- Fees - Commence at around $167 per term for Training One, and rise with each Level.
- Uniform - All Training One choristers need a Choir T-shirt. From Training Two more uniform is required. Uniform can be ordered through the Choir by the eighth week of each school term. Parents will be notified of uniform fitting days, which generally happen on a rehearsal night.
- Attendance - Compulsory at rehearsals and performances, and the Choir should be notified of any absences wherever possible.
- Rehearsals - Each group usually rehearses once per week throughout government school terms. The venues we use are clean, modern, comfortable and friendly.
- Duty of care - Parents are asked to supervise their own children right up to the rehearsal time, and to collect their child from the rehearsal area. The Choir is responsible for the care of children ONLY during the rehearsal or concert. A Duty of Care Policy is available for perusal from the office upon request.
